Message from Fetzer Vineyards:

This year marks 50 years of commitment to sustainable and regenerative winemaking practices by the historic Mendocino County-based winery, Fetzer Vineyards. In a climate where even the smallest gestures toward a greener environment are of the greatest importance, Fetzer continues to blaze the trail toward Net Positive winemaking.

On April 22, 1970, two years after Fetzer Vineyards was founded, 20 million Americans took to the streets to advocate for a healthy, sustainable environment in coast-to-coast rallies, marking the first official Earth Day. By the end of that year, the United States Environmental Protection Agency was formed, and the passage of the Clean AirClean Water, and Endangered Species Acts was passed.

After implementing numerous sustainable initiatives over the course of Fetzer’s 50 years of sustainable winemaking, including eliminating water waste, running on 100 percent green energy and becoming Carbon Neutral certified, the winery is proud to celebrate Earth Day on April 22 by supporting our environment and all it has to offer, including gorgeous vineyards and delicious wines.

Fetzer was recently recognized by the United Nations with a Momentum for Change award for its pacesetting sustainability practices.
